Immersive Learning and Flexible Learning Spaces
Each time a child uses one of their senses, a neural connection is made in their brain. Children learn best, and are more likely to remember their learning, when their senses are stimulated and there is a real purpose to their learning. ‘Immersing’ children in their learning requires our classrooms to be places of excitement, where their environment sparks their imagination and creates a real sense of purpose to their learning. Within this learning environment flexible learning bases encourage social interaction and learning and give the children the scope, freedom, flexibility to choose to learn in a variety of ways.
Research shows that the learning environment has a tremendous influence on children’s achievements. All children should feel safe, settled, valued and have a sense of belonging to their school and their class. Click on the two photos below for additional information.
