MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING
At Trewirgie Junior School, we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our children and staff. Article 24 of the UNCRC states that all children have the right to good health and this includes mental health. We have a supportive and caring ethos and our approach is respectful and kind, where each individual and contribution is valued. Our Mental Health Lead is Mr Wills.
At our school we know that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable and at times, anyone may need additional emotional support. We take the view that positive mental health is everybody’s business and that we all have a role to play. Looking after your mental health is really important. On this page you will find links to various sites that will help. we have also put together a list of books that can help children with the emotional traumas that they may experience in life.
We also have a wealth of experience within school. If you have any concerns regarding your child's mental health please do not hesitate to get in touch with one of the wellbeing team. Click here to read the school's Mental Health and Wellbeing policy.
Here are a few books that you might find useful. Click on the list to read more. Each book has a link where you can purchase this. we have many of these books in school too so please don't hesitate to contact the wellbeing team if you would like to borrow one. |
