Trewirgie Junior School

Modern Foreign languages

At Trewirgie Junior School, children are taught about a variety of cultures and traditions, which enables them to develop a genuine appreciation, understanding and respect for difference and diversity. We believe it is important to cultivate a love of language learning and curiosity for other cultures around the world.

The modern foreign language that is taught at Trewirgie Junior School is Spanish. It is taught through three main strands of language learning: listening and oracy; literacy and intercultural understanding. Throughout the year during PPA sessions, pupils are taught to build on their previous knowledge and develop their language skills. By the time pupils leave Trewirgie Junior School, they will be equipped with a solid foundation of language learning, providing them opportunity to take this further, should they choose in the future.
